A good website has well interlinked content and every page should have at least 1 click-able link to it. This makes a website more user friendly. The expansion of your website may result in certain pages getting lost. Hence, it important to generate a XML sitemap for your website. This lists every web page in your site. The next important step is to submit a sitemap to Google to make sure that all your web pages get indexed.
